Thatcher Taylor Payne

Thatcher Taylor Payne was born on August 14, 1796, in New York, and is a descendant of poet, playwright, and actor John Howard Payne (1791–1852) who wrote “Home! Sweet Home.” Little is known of his translation work. Payne died on December 27, 1863, in Brooklyn, New York.
